Famous actor, Edgar Bruce made the initial theatre at the existing site. The structure was built in 1884. After two years of run, the place was named as Prince of Wales Theatre after Edgar VII. The building was three-tier structure that could provide 1000 seas to audiences at a time. It was deliberately situated between Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. The first creation that organized here was The Palace of Truth and the next show was breaking a Butterfly. The first successful run at the Prince of Wales Theatre was Dorothy a comic opera broken all the records of that time. It is a grade II theatre situated in Coventry Street (London). The theatre was destroyed on 17th June 1937 and later, the famous artist Gracie Fields laid the new foundation of the theatre and sang in front of workers. The structure was made totally in art-deco style and the place inaugurated on 27th October with an additional gift to offer seats to 1100 audiences at a time, better facilities and a big stage. Later, the most winning creation at the place was Mamma Mia. Its music was the longest running at the Prince of Wales Theatre London; it introduced here in 2004 and celebrated eight years of fantastic run here. The show made a record of showing 3500th performances here in 2007 previously being taken away to the Novello Theater in Sep 2012 where it is now a day running. In March 2013 it welcomed The Book of Mormon. The musical transform audiences to Uganda in South Africa where two missionaries arrives to share one of the Holy Scripture, The Book of Mormon. The locals there have more serious matters such as conflict, food shortage, scarcity and AIDS address rather than embracing experience of faith. Champion of many global honors, the show is appropriate for spectators of all genus.
